Getting here
Where is your office if I searched for a therapist in Long Beach?
Eye Cue Mental Health does not have a Long Beach office. Our clinic is at 17215 Studebaker Rd., Suite 110, Cerritos, CA 90703, where the 91 and 605 freeways meet. From Downtown Long Beach, East Long Beach, Belmont Shore, and Belmont Heights, the drive along the 405 or 605 is about 10 to 15 minutes. Clients from Bixby Knolls, Signal Hill, Lakewood, Seal Beach, and Rossmoor use the 605 or 91 and arrive in that same window.
We serve Long Beach residents and Long Beach families across ZIP codes 90802, 90803, 90804, 90807, 90808, and 90814. Secure telehealth is available anywhere in California, so you do not have to drive if video fits your situation better. If you could only get biweekly sessions elsewhere, call us to check current openings.
Continuity of care
Do you keep the same therapist in person and by video?
Founder Saqib Iqbal, LCSW, puts the differentiator plainly: the same therapist either way. You are not assigned a different clinician for telehealth and another for office visits. The therapy relationship, the treatment plan, and the billing stay continuous across both modalities.
Long Beach clients often start by video and transition to in-person sessions at the Cerritos office when they want face-to-face contact. Others start in person and stay on telehealth therapy when a work schedule changes. Per the California DHCS telehealth policy, Medi-Cal covers telehealth services on the same terms as in-person care. If you want a therapist you can actually switch to in-person when you need to, that is exactly what this practice offers Long Beach clients.
Coverage
What insurance is accepted for Long Beach clients?
Eye Cue Mental Health accepts Medi-Cal, Anthem Medi-Cal, Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal, LA Care, Molina, Cigna, and Aetna. LA Care and Molina cover Long Beach residents as LA County members. Whether your specific plan covers the therapy you need depends on your plan and medical necessity, and we verify your benefits before your first session.
Medi-Cal is one of several insurances we accept, not a special program or a separate intake track. We have held Medi-Cal contracts since we opened in November 2017. Call us with your insurance card and we verify together before you book.
What we treat
What therapy services do you offer Long Beach clients?
The services our clinicians offer by video statewide and in person at the nearby Cerritos office. If you do not see your concern, call us; intake is the best way to find out if we fit.
Individual therapy
Individual therapy is the practice's primary service. Long Beach adults work one-on-one with a clinician on anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD concerns, and life transitions. Treatment length follows medical necessity, not a session quota or plan algorithm.
Couples counseling
Couples counseling addresses recurring conflict, communication breakdown, and emotional distance. Both partners build real tools to name unmet needs and respond to each other, in person at our Cerritos office or by video.
Family therapy
Family therapy works with parents, children, and multi-generational dynamics. Clinicians address the relationships shaping the household as well as the individual under the most stress.
Trauma therapy and EMDR
Trauma therapy and EMDR therapy are available to Long Beach clients. An EMDR-trained clinician on our team offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing for trauma and stress-related concerns, including for clients on Medi-Cal.
Anxiety and depression therapy
Anxiety therapy and depression therapy are the most common reasons clients contact us from Long Beach. Clinicians work through the patterns under persistent worry, low mood, and the sense that nothing gets resolved.
Medi-Cal therapy
Medi-Cal therapy is available to Long Beach residents across our full service menu. Many searches for Medi-Cal therapists in Long Beach reflect a genuine gap. We cover it in the same session format as any other payer.
EMDR access
Can I get EMDR for trauma through Medi-Cal as a Long Beach client?
Many local practices and directories name EMDR as a service, but few accept Medi-Cal for it. In the private market, cash rates for EMDR in the Long Beach area typically run 250 to 300 dollars per session.
An EMDR-trained clinician on our team delivers this modality to clients on Medi-Cal and commercial plans. If EMDR was out of reach because of cost, that changes here. Whether your specific plan covers EMDR depends on your plan and medical necessity, and we verify before you start.
Language access
Can I see a therapist in my language from Long Beach?
Many Long Beach adults cannot find a therapist who speaks Farsi, Tagalog, or Spanish. It is the most common language-access frustration we hear at intake. Our team delivers sessions in six languages beyond English, spoken across our team: Spanish, Farsi, Tagalog, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi.
Long Beach has substantial Filipino, Hispanic, and South Asian communities that are underserved by many local practices and other directories. Our language coverage is team-level, and we match you with the right clinician at intake. Visit our telehealth therapy page to learn how language-matched telehealth sessions work statewide, or see our Medi-Cal therapy page for more on coverage.
Availability
Do you have hours that work around Long Beach work schedules?
Eye Cue Mental Health is open 7 days a week, 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, including Saturday and Sunday. Most outpatient mental health clinics in LA County are closed on weekends, so weekend and late-evening availability is genuinely hard to find in Long Beach proper.
Long Beach adults working Monday through Friday can schedule weekday evenings or Saturday and Sunday sessions, in person at the Cerritos office or by telehealth. Weekly sessions at a consistent time are available based on current clinician openings. Call to ask about availability.
Why us
Why do Long Beach clients choose Eye Cue Mental Health?
Choose a private practice over a directory or national chain and you get a named team, a named supervisor, and a direct phone line. Long Beach families often encounter biweekly slots at nearby in-network practices because private-practice Medi-Cal providers are thin in Long Beach proper. Eye Cue is a private practice, not a directory. Our multi-clinician team is supervised by Saqib Iqbal, LCSW, who founded the practice in November 2017.
A common question on this search is what the two-year rule for therapists means. It refers to pre-licensure associates completing supervised hours before full licensure. Our team includes licensed clinicians and pre-licensure associates under direct LCSW supervision. If your assigned clinician is not the right fit, we reassign you within the practice without restarting the insurance process.
In their words
What do clients say about Eye Cue Mental Health?
A note from someone we worked with at Eye Cue Mental Health.
"This therapist has saved my life. Makes you feel great when you walk out of his office. Saqui will also give you tools to continue your treatment on your own time. Highly recommend him for people all ages."

Good questions
Frequently asked questions about therapy for Long Beach clients
Still unsure? Call 562-860-2891 and we will talk it through, no commitment.
Our office is in Cerritos, not in Long Beach. The address is 17215 Studebaker Rd., Suite 110, Cerritos, CA 90703. For most Long Beach clients the drive is approximately 10 to 15 minutes via the 405, 605, or 91 freeways. We also see Long Beach clients by secure telehealth through the same clinician, so you do not have to drive if telehealth fits your situation better.
Yes, Medi-Cal is one of seven insurance contracts we hold. Whether your specific plan covers the service you need depends on your plan and medical necessity. We verify your benefits before your first session. Call us at 562-860-2891 with your insurance card and we check together. We have held Medi-Cal contracts since November 2017.
If you carry one of our seven accepted plans, your out-of-pocket cost depends on your plan's copay structure. Cost depends on your plan; we verify before you book. For Medi-Cal members, outpatient mental health services are covered when medically necessary per California DHCS. We confirm what you owe before your first appointment.
Yes. Statewide telehealth through the same clinician is a core part of how we serve Long Beach clients. Anthem Medi-Cal, Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal, Cigna, and Aetna all cover telehealth statewide. LA Care and Molina cover Long Beach residents as LA County members. The therapy relationship and treatment plan are identical whether you join by video or come to the Cerritos office.
We reassign you to another clinician in the practice. You do not lose your place in the insurance process and you do not restart the verification paperwork. Finding the right fit is part of what we manage, not something you navigate alone.
Yes, the office is open 7 days a week, 8 AM to 10 PM, including Saturday and Sunday. Sessions in the evening, on weekends, or both are available based on current clinician openings. Call to check what is open.
Yes. Our team delivers sessions in six languages beyond English: Spanish, Farsi, Tagalog, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi. Language matching happens at intake. Call us and we match you with a clinician whose language fits.
We are psychotherapy only and do not prescribe medication or provide crisis intervention. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time, 24 hours a day. The City of Long Beach Department of Health Mental Health page lists local crisis and community resources.
