Continuity of care
Can I see the same therapist whether I drive to Cerritos or log on from Lakewood?
Many local practices route Lakewood searchers to an office across town and reassign clinicians between visits. At Eye Cue, your therapist is yours whether you sit in the nearby Cerritos office or join by video from Lakewood. Founder Saqib Iqbal, LCSW, puts it plainly: the same therapist either way.
Clients who live near Lakewood often start in person and shift to telehealth therapy when a schedule changes. The therapy relationship, billing, and treatment plan stay continuous. Per California DHCS telehealth policy, Medi-Cal covers telehealth sessions under the same terms as in-person care.
The clinic
Where do Lakewood residents go for in-person sessions?
Lakewood directly borders Cerritos, where Eye Cue's clinic sits at the intersection of the 91 freeway and the 605 freeway. The Cerritos office is about 5 miles from central Lakewood, roughly 10 minutes by car via the 605 or Carson Street.
Eye Cue does not have a Lakewood office. In-person sessions are at our Cerritos clinic at 17215 Studebaker Rd., Suite 110, Cerritos, CA 90703. Lakewood residents in the 90712, 90713, and 90715 ZIP codes can also start telehealth from home. Either way, you keep the same clinician.
Weekly sessions are available at the cadence your clinician determines is medically appropriate, not at whatever slot an algorithm opens up. If only biweekly was available elsewhere, that changes here. The Cerritos office is a quiet, private setting, not a clinic waiting room, and we work through insurance transitions rather than terminating care.
Coverage
What insurance is accepted for Lakewood residents?
Eye Cue Mental Health accepts Medi-Cal, Anthem Medi-Cal, Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal, LA Care, Molina, Cigna, and Aetna. Because Lakewood is in LA County, all seven plans reach Lakewood residents. Whether your specific plan covers the therapy you need depends on your plan and medical necessity, and we verify before your first session.
LA Care and Molina are LA County only. Anthem Medi-Cal, Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal, Cigna, and Aetna reach Lakewood clients statewide by telehealth. We have accepted Medi-Cal since we opened in November 2017. Call us with your insurance card and we check together before you book.
Cost
What does therapy cost for Lakewood residents?
The cost is whatever your insurance plan's copay is for an outpatient mental health visit. We hold contracts with seven insurance plans, and for most Medi-Cal members the copay is $0. We verify your specific benefits before your first session so there are no billing surprises.
Whether your plan covers the service you need depends on your plan and medical necessity. Call us with your insurance card and we check together before you book.
What we treat
What mental health care do you provide for Lakewood residents?
The services our clinicians offer by video statewide and in person at the nearby Cerritos office. If you do not see your concern, call us; intake is the best way to find out if we fit.
Individual therapy
Individual therapy is the practice's primary service. Adults work one-on-one with a clinician on anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD concerns, and life transitions. Treatment length follows medical necessity, not a session quota.
Couples counseling
Couples counseling helps partners address recurring conflict, communication breakdown, and emotional distance, with real tools to name unmet needs and respond to each other.
Family therapy
Family therapy supports parents, children, and multi-generational dynamics. Clinicians work with the relationships shaping the household, not just the individual in distress.
Trauma therapy and EMDR
Trauma therapy and EMDR therapy are available through the practice. A clinician on our team offers EMDR for trauma and stress-related concerns. EMDR is rarely available through Medi-Cal; ours is offered to clients on the plans we accept.
Anxiety and depression therapy
Anxiety therapy and depression therapy are two of the most common reasons Lakewood clients call us. Clinicians work through the patterns underneath persistent worry, low mood, and the sense that nothing quite gets resolved.
Telehealth therapy
Telehealth therapy through Eye Cue is statewide across California. Lakewood residents can start and continue with the same clinician entirely online, or blend telehealth with in-person visits at the Cerritos office.
Language access
Can I see a therapist in my language while living in Lakewood?
One of the most common frustrations we hear is that clients cannot find a therapist who speaks Farsi, Tagalog, or Spanish. Lakewood's adult population is among the most linguistically diverse in LA County, and a language match matters for the therapeutic relationship.
Our team delivers sessions in six languages beyond English: Spanish, Farsi, Tagalog, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi, spoken across our team at one outpatient practice. If language is a factor in your search, call us and we will match you with a clinician whose language fits. See our Medi-Cal therapy page for more on coverage across all services.
In their words
What do clients say about Eye Cue Mental Health?
A note from someone we worked with at our Cerritos office.
"This therapist has saved my life. Makes you feel great when you walk out of his office. Saqui will also give you tools to continue your treatment on your own time. Highly recommend him for people all ages."

Both options are available, and the clinician is the same either way. Telehealth from Lakewood works for clients who prefer to stay home, have childcare constraints, or cannot easily drive. The Cerritos office is available when you want an in-person session. Your treatment plan and billing stay continuous regardless of which modality you use.

We reassign you to another clinician in the practice. You do not lose your place in the insurance process and you do not have to restart the verification paperwork. Getting the right fit is part of what we manage, not something you navigate alone.
We work with clients through insurance transitions rather than terminating care. If your plan changes, call us and we will sort the billing before your next session. The therapeutic relationship is the priority.
We are psychotherapy only and do not prescribe medication or provide crisis intervention. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time, 24 hours a day. For mental health resources by region, the California DHCS Mental Health Program lists county crisis resources and outpatient services.
