How does in-person therapy differ from telehealth at Eye Cue?
In-person therapy happens at our Cerritos office, which sits right where the 91 and 605 freeways meet. Clients who live in Cerritos, Artesia, Lakewood, Long Beach, La Palma, or the surrounding cities can drive in and meet with a therapist face to face. The office is a quiet, private-practice setting. No metal detectors, no acute-psychiatric waiting rooms.
Telehealth sessions use the same therapist, the same treatment plan, and the same insurance billing as in-person care. If your schedule shifts or you prefer not to drive, you can switch to video without changing your provider. This flexibility matters when your Medi-Cal plan, work hours, or home situation changes.
You do not have to commit to one or the other. Per the California Department of Health Care Services telehealth policy, Medi-Cal covers telehealth services under the same terms as in-person care. That means you can use both within the same episode of treatment.
For clients in cities farther from the clinic, in the South Bay, Orange County, or eastern LA County cities like Pomona, Covina, or Glendora, telehealth therapy is often the practical choice from the start. For clients within a 15-minute radius of the Cerritos office, in-person may be easy to maintain weekly. Either way, the same clinician, the same treatment approach, and the same insurance billing apply. You are not handed off to a different provider when you shift formats.

Which insurance plans are accepted at the Cerritos clinic?
Eye Cue Mental Health accepts Medi-Cal and several private plans. We hold contracts with Medi-Cal, Anthem Medi-Cal, Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal, LA Care, Molina, Cigna, and Aetna. Whether your specific plan covers the therapy you need depends on your plan's terms and medical necessity, and we verify your benefits before your first session.
The plans we hold contracts with are Medi-Cal, which covers most of our current caseload; Anthem Medi-Cal with statewide coverage; Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal with statewide coverage; LA Care for LA County clients; Molina for LA County clients; Cigna statewide; and Aetna statewide. Eye Cue is a private practice that accepts Medi-Cal, founded in November 2017 in Cerritos specifically to fill this gap. Many Medi-Cal mental health services in LA operate as county programs. Eye Cue is not a county program, and that distinction changes how your care is delivered.
Private-practice setting
Our Cerritos office is a standard outpatient therapy suite. You check in, meet with your therapist, and leave. There is no security screening and no shared waiting room with acute-psychiatric patients.
Treatment length based on medical necessity
We do not operate on an algorithm that steps you down or terminates services on a schedule. Treatment length is based on your medical necessity. You and your clinician decide when you are done.
Same therapist, in-person or telehealth
If you want to see your therapist in person, you can. If you need to switch to telehealth, the same therapist stays with you. Couldn't get weekly sessions, only biweekly, is a common frustration from clients who have tried other panels. At Eye Cue, your session frequency is set by clinical need, not by the slot that opened up.

If the first therapist is not a good fit, we reassign you to another clinician within the practice. This is confirmed practice policy. You do not have to start the Medi-Cal intake process over or leave the practice.
Telehealth and in-person sessions use the same evidence-based approaches. Per California law and DHCS policy, Medi-Cal covers telehealth at the same rate as in-person care. Choose the format that fits your schedule.
We work with clients through insurance transitions rather than terminating care. Will they drop me if my insurance switches is a common concern. If your plan changes to one we hold a contract with, the relationship continues. If it changes to one we do not hold, we will discuss options before ending care.
Yes. The Cerritos clinic is open 7 days a week from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Weekend and evening availability is one of the ways we differ from most Medi-Cal mental health providers in LA County, which are typically closed on weekends.
