The clinic

What is in-person therapy like at the Cerritos clinic?

The Cerritos office is at the intersection of the 91 freeway and the 605 freeway, on the LA County and Orange County border. Clients from Artesia, Lakewood, La Mirada, Norwalk, Bellflower, and Cypress reach us in about 10 minutes. Residents from Long Beach and Buena Park are about 10 to 15 minutes away, and Anaheim is about 15 to 20 minutes.

You do not have to choose between in-person sessions and telehealth. Weekly sessions are available at the cadence your clinician determines is medically appropriate, not at whatever slot an algorithm opens up. If you could only get biweekly sessions elsewhere, that changes here.

Continuity of care

Do you keep the same therapist in person and by video?

Big telehealth platforms assign whoever is available and cannot promise a face-to-face backup. At Eye Cue, your clinician is yours whether you sit in the Cerritos office or join by video from anywhere in California. Founder Saqib Iqbal, LCSW, puts it plainly: the same therapist either way.

Clients in the LA County and Orange County area often start in person and shift to telehealth therapy when a schedule changes. You keep the same therapeutic relationship and the same treatment plan. Your clinician also gives you tools to continue your treatment on your own time between sessions.

Coverage

What insurance is accepted at the Cerritos office?

Eye Cue Mental Health accepts Medi-Cal, Medicare, Covered California and most major commercial plans. Coverage depends on your plan and medical necessity. We verify your benefits before your first session.

Medi-Cal managed-care plans include Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield Promise and Molina across multiple counties; L.A. Care, Carelon and Health Net in Los Angeles County; and CalOptima in Orange County. Telehealth is available across California. Coverage depends on your plan and medical necessity; we verify before you start. We have held Medi-Cal contracts since we opened in November 2017. Call us with your insurance card and we check together before you book.

What we treat

What mental health care do you provide in Cerritos?

The services our clinicians offer in person at the Cerritos office and by video statewide. If you do not see your concern, call us; intake is the best way to find out if we fit.

Individual therapy

Individual therapy is the practice's primary service. Adults work one-on-one with a clinician on anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD concerns, and life transitions. Treatment length follows medical necessity, not a session quota.

Couples counseling

Couples counseling helps partners address recurring conflict, communication breakdown, and emotional distance, with real tools to name unmet needs and respond to each other.

Family therapy

Family therapy supports parents, children, and multi-generational dynamics. Clinicians work with the relationships shaping the household, not just the individual in distress.

Trauma therapy and EMDR

Trauma therapy and EMDR are available at the Cerritos clinic. An EMDR-trained clinician on our team offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing for trauma and stress-related concerns. Most EMDR clinicians do not accept Medi-Cal; ours does.

Anxiety and depression therapy

Anxiety therapy and depression therapy are two of the most common reasons clients call us. Clinicians work through the patterns underneath persistent worry and low mood.

Teen and adolescent therapy

Teen therapy gives young people a setting to process what is difficult. Clinicians use a non-judgmental approach to help adolescents build emotional skills and express themselves.

Language access

Can I see a therapist in my language in Cerritos?

One of the most common frustrations we hear is that clients cannot find a therapist who speaks Farsi, Tagalog, or Spanish. Our team delivers sessions in six languages beyond English: Spanish, Farsi, Tagalog, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi, spoken across our team at one outpatient practice.

Cerritos is one of the most linguistically diverse cities in LA County, and a language match matters for the therapeutic relationship. If language is a factor in your search, call us and we will match you with a clinician whose language fits. See our Medi-Cal therapy page for more on coverage.

Good questions

Frequently asked questions about therapy in Cerritos

Still unsure? Call 562-860-2891 and we will talk it through, no commitment.

Yes, Medi-Cal is one of the insurance contracts we hold at this office. Whether your specific plan covers the service you are seeking depends on your plan and medical necessity, and we verify before you start. Call us at 562-860-2891 with your insurance card.

The cost is often $0 out of pocket if you carry one of our accepted plans. Per California DHCS, Medi-Cal covers outpatient mental health services when medically necessary. Call us to confirm whether your specific plan covers the service you need.

In California, both terms refer to licensed clinicians who provide psychotherapy, but the license type differs. Our team includes an LCSW, AMFTs, and ASWs, all supervised by Saqib Iqbal, LCSW. Call us if you want to talk through which clinician background fits your situation.

We reassign you to another clinician in the practice. You do not lose your place in the insurance process and you do not have to restart the verification paperwork. Getting the right fit is part of what we manage, not something you navigate alone.

Yes, the Cerritos office is open 7 days a week, 8 AM to 10 PM, including Saturday and Sunday. Most outpatient mental health clinics in LA County are closed on weekends. Weekly sessions at a consistent time, including evenings after work, are available based on current clinician openings.

Yes, you can move between the Cerritos office and telehealth sessions with the same clinician. The therapy relationship, billing, and treatment plan stay continuous. Clients in the LA County and Orange County area often use the office for in-person sessions and shift to video when travel is not practical.

We work with clients through insurance transitions rather than terminating care. If your plan changes to one we hold a contract with, call us and we will sort the billing before your next session. The therapeutic relationship is the priority.

We are psychotherapy only and do not prescribe medication or provide crisis intervention. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time. For mental health resources, the California DHCS Mental Health Program lists county crisis resources and outpatient services by region.

Telehealth across California

Online therapy in Cerritos and all of California

If you live anywhere in California, you can work with an Eye Cue clinician by video from home, work, or wherever you feel settled. You keep the same clinician for as long as treatment runs. When it helps, you can switch to in-person sessions at our Cerritos office without changing therapists.

Statewide telehealth depends on your plan. Some Medi-Cal plans are limited to one county: L.A. Care, Carelon, and Health Net Medi-Cal to Los Angeles County, and CalOptima to Orange County. We verify your plan before your first session. See the full insurance list and county details.
