Our mental health clinic offers a range of psychological services and treatments to children, adolescents and adults in our community. We provide comprehensive psychological assessments and psychotherapies. From time to time we offer group therapy for adults struggling with depression, anxiety, or substance abuse.
Many clients are adults who find themselves in a cycle of unhealthy habits and negative personal beliefs. We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, among other treatment approaches, to reduce the impact of mental health symptoms on daily living. Couples are also invited to explore their relationship in a safe and open setting to discover and express emotions..
Life doesn’t always turn out as we hope, and adjusting to dramatic changes can cause breakdowns in emotional health. There may also be lingering effects of childhood traumas that disrupt our adult relationships. Individual psychotherapy can help you manage your unregulated emotional responses to everyday stress.
Our approach to couples counseling is oriented in the reality of each partner having real needs that are not being met. During counseling sessions, couples will learn to express their needs, recognize their partner’s needs, and then find mutually beneficial solutions.
Children also struggle with their emotional lives and find it difficult to communicate with their parents and family members. Introducing psychotherapy services allows a child to build comfort in a non-judgmental environment. Children will learn skills that will help them manage their emotions and express themselves assertively.
My passion for mental health stems from my recovery story. I fell in love with the people and organizations that helped me. And, when I starting helping others on the path of personal growth, I knew what I was put on this planet to do. So, I got out of the job I hated to pursue a Master's Degree in Social Work at USC. My approach to psychotherapy focuses on learning about the journey my clients have experienced. Followed by a solution-focused orientation that encourages forward progress and goal achievement. I believe that with love, support, and honesty anything is possible.
I worked in community mental health for 5 years in South Los Angeles and surrounding areas. It was an honor to serve people of all ages with severe and persistent mental illness, many of whom experienced complex childhood trauma. I have learned a great deal from my past clients and the teams I worked with.
My ideal clients are adults who find themselves in a cycle of unhealthy habits and negative personal beliefs. I utilize evidence based practices to reduce the impact of mental health symptoms on daily living. Couples are also invited to explore their relationship in a safe and open setting to discover and express emotions.
At Eye Cue Mental Health, we care about your mental health and it is reflected in everything we do including our services that are described below.
CBT is one of the pillars of our psychotherapy approaches. CBT teaches the client to recognize Automatic Negative Thoughts and All Or None Thinking which cause and prolong depressed mood and anxiety. Working with a therapist using this model will break unhealthy patterns by introducing positive cognitive and behavioral alternatives.
Psychodynamic Therapy concentrates on a building client’s self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behavior. This allows recognition of recurring cycles of behavior which can finally be addressed.
When treating children there is a focus of building comfort with play therapy and building a safe environment to explore difficult emotions. Coping skills and motivational techniques are provided to both the child and their caregivers to improve mood and behaviors at home and school.
Family systems theory identifies that interconnectedness of a family. Whereas one person’s attitude and behavior affect the other members of the family. When treating a family it is imperative to understand the entire family as an interconnected single unit.
Mindfulness meditation and grounding techniques are a powerful practices that have clinically significant results to reduce depression and anxiety. We will provide education and demonstrate these techniques which will prevent panic attacks and improve overall mood and concentration.
Telephone and videoconferencing offers individuals the same level of support and confidentiality as that of meeting face to face with a licensed psychotherapist.
